Ah well, a great gig all in all. The final in Birmingham was an excellent evening, with about 350 people in the Conservatoire. I ended up with joint top score in the final round, with Ben Miller. At that point they used scores from the previous round, which gave Ben the title, and well done Ben. I'm pretty pleased with being such a close runner-up. It was all worth it to get reading my poems on Radio 4 on National Poetry Day and to help create a fabulous gig that the audience really enjoyed. In a day or two, I'll put up audio of my pieces from the final.
My next gig is on the 17th at the Cobalt Cafe in Dublin.
Thank you for listening Doctor.

Final approaches
So I'm in an agony of choice for the final, with poems vying for attention all over the place. Tomorrow, 24th Sep. the semi-final is broadcast and I'm managing to be trepidacious about that, even though I know it went ok. So anyway, catch the show and wish me luck for Birmingham on the 6th.
