Norwich Arts Centre

Well, I'm just back from performing at Norwich Arts Centre. It was a really good evening, with excellent organisational back up from Amy Wragg and the centre, a really cool place in a converted church, run by friendly and helpful people and obviously well appreciated and supported by the people of Norwich. I wish we had something like it in Belfast. We have arts centres, just not as cool as that, and we seem too judgemental a culture to give proper support to worthwhile enterprises without falling out with each other. I'm looking forward to the videos of the performances getting uploaded. Strong performances from me old mucker Jenni Doherty, also flown in from the Province, and two fabulous poets who study at UEA, Stephanie Leal and Agnes Lehoczky.
All in all, a frenetic 36 hours. We did more reading at an open mic in the Ten Bells across the road, and an interview with Radio Norfolk in the afternoon.
Next gig is Saturday 16th. Jan., when I'm on with Elvis McGonagle at the Black Box in Belfast.

  1. I'm glad that you enjoyed Norwich Arts Centre! I'm from Norwich and it is a regular haunt, spoken word nights are fairly frequent...

There's lots of great stuff going on in Norfolk generally - check out the short video on this website (to explore when you come back!):
